FAQ

How do I take my apps to the next level?

It is important to start by making the most of the basic apps first.  Many of the best apps have great unused features.  Research some of the apps you put on your iPad.  Search for tutorials, videos and examples using these apps.  Then think about how you can combine apps with each other to create new products.  There will always be NEW apps coming out, and this is something you should seek out in your PLN and using Social Media.

Cool ideas, but when do I find time to teach the kids HOW to do this?

First, do not underestimate your students.  Most of these apps are fairly straightforward and intuitaive, especially for students.  So combining apps is as easy as helping them break down the steps to completion.  Next, let your tech leaders shine.  Let students try to problem solve and help one another to figure app smashing out: in the end it will probably take less time than explicit teaching of the apps and students gain soft skills.  Finally, do not forget your resources:  could this be a workshop(s) that the MRS or an older student could come in and teach?
